"Squeeze vs. Chomp"

Films: Mega-Python Vs. Gatoroid (2011)

Alias: None

Type: Natural (Pythons), Man-Made (Gatoroids)

Location: Swamp/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Up to that of large buildings.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: It only made sense that the Asylum would move away from sea creatures just for a bit so that it could focus on more scaly terrors. And what more exploited reptiles are there in movies than the snakes and gators out there? Perfect fodder for quasi-kaiju mayhem.

History: After several unnaturally large pythons are unleashed into the Everglades, their constant murdering of the ecosystem spurs some people into giving a bunch of alligators special steroids that put them at an even size with the ever-growing snakes. Naturally, this only makes things worse, as now both the mega-pythons and Gatoroids are out and about killing everything as well as each other.

Notable Kills: See Final Fate.

Final Fate: Eventually, after some of the reptiles grow to building-size, they are all summarily blown up. However, a python head manages to bite the one who released them all in half before expiring.

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 3-The CGI is, you guessed it, quality-brand Asylum guff. It's so damn obvious that the monsters are poor digital effects that the mere thought of giant Everglades terrors is dead and buried. Still, they were pretty destructive, for what it's worth.

Trivia: -Before you ask, snakes and their reptilian/amphibian cousins can indeed live on after being decapitated. Up to five hours, in fact. This is mainly because their brains don't require that much oxygen to function in the first place.

-Pythons aren't native to the Everglades, but so many have been illegally transferred to Florida as pets that they've invaded the whole place. The same goes for other imported animals. It seems to be a common thing in Florida, especially where reptiles are concerned.
